Working from the Opportunity Details window

Starting with version 7.1, Excel Quote-Invoice Maker for ACT! can be run from the Opportunity Details window. Here are the particularities of running the program from this view:

  • You can only merge one opportunity at a time, ie. the current opportunity.
  • In the opportunity view, you may run any template you want. In the contact details view, you can only run contact templates, in the company view, only company templates, in the group view, only group templates, but in the opportunity view, you may run any template you want.
  • If you select a contact template, the contact data of the current opportunity will be merged. If you select a company template, the company data will be merged, if a group template, the group data will be merged. If you select a company template for instance and more than one company is associated with the opportunity, you'll be prompted to select which company you want to merge (same for contacts and groups).
  • You can't create or edit a template in this view: you'll have to go to the view corresponding to the type of template you want to create or edit.
  • The option to update the current record in case of bi-directional template is disabled. These type of templates will have to be run from their respective view to update the current contact, company or group record.
