The PictureViewer control is a control that allows the display of several pictures in a single location
of your layout. It is perfect when you have limited screen space.
In the following video, we demonstrate how to add the control to a layout and how to set it up to
display different pictures.
You'll note in the video that the control is tied to a memo field that you might need to create before adding the control to the layout.
Please note the specifics of this control:
- The pictures are NOT stored in the database. The PictureViewer control only stores the PATH to the pictures you add to the control.
The advantage is that you do not hinder your database performance when adding pictures. But you need to make sure you do not delete or move the pictures
once they have been added to the control. Logically you would create a picture folder where you would store all of your pictures to avoid
this kind of problem, unless you use the Add picture from the Web option which allows you to display pictures stored in a Web server.
- If you want the control to work in a synchronization environment, put your pictures in a folder that ACT! automatically synchronizes or use the Web server option.
- Pictures are automatically resized so that they fit into the control but if you click a picture to display it in an outside
window, the picture appears in its original size (if not, resize the window as it remembers the size from its previous display).
