To create a lookup, simply drag & drop groups in the Include or Exclude lists.
As you might have guessed, if a group is in the Include list, its contacts will be included in the lookup and if a group is in the Exclude lists
its contacts will be excluded from the final lookup. So based on the screenshot above, the resulting lookup would include contacts which have upcoming birthdays but are NOT friends.
You can as easily create a lookup of contacts that are Hot Deals with E-mail address to do an e-mailing.
When you add multiple groups to the same list, you'll see the two radio buttons below (combine and interact) are now enabled.
This is a very powerful feature of Advanced Lookup by Groups: you can either create a combination of the groups (you combine contacts from the
groups in the same list) or you create a cross-section of the groups (you just keep the contacts that belongs to all groups at the same time).
Let's take an example: let's pretend that Hot Deals contains ContactA, ContactB and ContactC and Upcoming Birthdays contains ContactA and Contact D. If you combine
the two groups, you'll end up with ContactA, ContactB, ContactC and ContactD. If you intersect, you'll end up with just ContactA.
Preset Lookups
We've included a number of preset lookups under the Preset lookups menu. The menu commands are self-explanatory.
